From its inception, the Lesher Foundation has seen arts and culture as central to a vibrant Contra Costa County. The arts play a distinct and powerful role in our community. They bring joy, expand our sense of possibility, enable us to imagine lives and worlds different than our own, inspire new perspectives, and strengthen the creative spirit.

Arts and culture also help us understand and tell the story of our own communities, and serve as a transformative force for sharing the human experience.
